The Synergy Experience for Exemplary Leaders is a one-year leadership development program created by the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents (KASS) in partnership with the Kentucky Center for Leadership. Designed exclusively for experienced superintendents, Synergy blends executive-level leadership development with meaningful connections to Kentucky’s business and industry leaders.
Synergy creates a multiplier effect by strengthening superintendent leadership while building cross-sector partnerships that can accelerate student opportunity and community growth statewide.

Format: Three sessions, two days each
Session Schedule:
- Day 1: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
- Day 2: 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Session Dates:
- February 5-6
- April 16-17
- June 16-17
Locations: Three different locations across Kentucky, distributed from Western to Eastern Kentucky for statewide access.
WHO SHOULD REGISTER?
Synergy is open exclusively to KASS member school superintendents.
Eligibility requires participants to be in their second or subsequent contract with the same school board, ensuring a cohort of experienced and successful educational leaders.
Space is limited.
With a cohort capped at 30, we encourage eligible superintendents to register early.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Synergy represents the highest level of leadership development offered by KASS. In partnership with the Kentucky Center for Leadership, the program strengthens Kentucky’s educational leadership by blending advanced executive development with intentional connections to the state’s business community.
The main emphasis is executive-level leadership development, with a key feature of intentional cross-pollination with CEO-level executives from Kentucky-based business and industry. Through collaboration, networking, the exchange of best practices, and cross-sector needs assessment, Synergy builds stronger alignment between education and enterprise.
Throughout Synergy, participants will experience:
- Intensive, cohort-based learning designed for high-engagement discussion and application
- Direct interaction with executive business leaders across Kentucky
- Practical, real-world executive leadership skills and strategies
- Geographic diversity in session locations that reflect the breadth of the Commonwealth
Cost: $1,299 (travel not included)
